Today’s post is all about skin. Basically, how to keep your skin glowy in the winter cause ain’t nobody got time for ash around here. Plus because its Green Monday (yes this is a thing not as catchy as cyber Monday I admit) Ive included a roundup of great beauty gifts so you can take advantage of the awesome deals. Can you believe it Christmas is literally 14 days away.😱 and I am nowhere done with my Christmas shopping so if you are a procrastinator give the gift of great skin to your bestie, Mom, co-worker, Mentor, boo, brother even your college roommate lol. Skincare is one of those gifts you can give pretty much anyone.
Steps to Glowy Skin.
- Exfoliate, Exfoliate, Exfoliate,
Maybe it’s because of the colder weather but in the colder months, dead skin/dry skin is just so much more prevalent and noticeable. If you want to keep your skin supple its necessary to get rid of it. There are so many ways to do this you can do it phycially with a face exfoliating tool or a body dry brush. Or chemically with products that break down the dead skin like products with enzymes, glycolic and alpha hydroxy acids. Or with hybrid products that do a bit of both like cleanser a with exfoliating beads in them, I personally luv the Neutrogena Visibly Even Foaming Cleanser.
- Nourish, Nourish, Nourish
Nourishing your skin is a little different from moisturizing. It’s a two-step process that involves the removal of the “bad stuff” and the addition of the good stuff. For example, you use face masks to detoxify your skin and unclog your pores as well as provide your skin with the minerals it loves. You also achieve this step by drinking water, eating better and taking supplements like this.
Hydration is so necessary for the winter months because of how dry skin gets. Even for my oily girls, it is essential you find an oil-free moisturizer that works. I personally use the Tula day/overnight cream. You can even find moisturizers that mattify. If you have done step 1 and step 2 your oil production should be under control especially if you use Masks that are designed to do just that like Kaolin clay based masks .
Follow these steps religiously this winter and soon before you know it you’ll probably have no need for a highlighter.
