How To Make A Statement This Spring In The Color Of The Year

Hi, Chicsters! Today’s post is in collaboration with LOFT plus and it’s all about how to make a statement this spring in Pantone’s 2018  color of the year! I realized going into this spring that purple is a color that has been neglected in my wardrobe not intentionally of course but it can be a tricky color to coordinate. Until I realized the easiest way to style it, wear it from head to toe. The trick to making it work is to wear different shades you can go bold with a deep purple and a pastel or a bit more subtle like I’ve done. I opted for lighter shades because it is spring after all.

Now if you would rather experiment with other colors Purple also pairs well with shades of blue, and green. For example, Lavender/lilac pairs well with cornflower blue, hints of rose, periwinkle, denim, navy and most neutrals especially gray.

Today’s outfit is a perfect example of what you wear when you really want it to be sunny and seventy-five but its actually sunny and sixty. I paired the Stitchy Boatneck Sweater (wearing an XXL) with the LOFT Plus Slit Skinny Jeans in Lush  Lilac (wearing an 18). To add a little more color to the look I pulled my favorite embellished sandal and finished things off with a wicker bag.
