Happy Mothers day Chicsters!! I’ve been meaning to introduce you to Mama Supplechic for some time now and I figured Mothers day was a perfect time. The older I get the more grateful I am for my mom, we may not see eye to eye sometimes, but I realize that from her I have learned so much.
Here are 5 things I learned from my momma about life & motherhood
The hand of the giver is always on top! my mom loves to give its like second nature to her sometimes honestly to a fault. Giving might seem like a selfless act but really is it lol ask Bill Gates!!
Motherhood means being stronger & more resilient than you could ever imagine! My mother never lets anything stop her from achieving her goals she raised for children as a single parent in a very patriarchal Nigeria.
Never stop learning & exploring! I got my thirst for wanderlust from my mom, she is a woman who is never content being stagnant she actively seeks to engage and learn. I remember pouring through old photos of all her travels up till now she shows no sign of stopping.
Appreciation of lives peaks & valleys From her I have learned how important it is to appreciate and make the most of whatever season you are in how to be grateful and patient.
Finally my fierce love of fashion and sense of self! My momma was a fashionista okurrr and I’d like to think trendsetter. I remember pouring through old photos of her from the 80’s when I was little; There is one in particular where she is wearing a belted midi dress and (really) oversized bug glasses
These are just a few of the things I learned from my mom I’d love for you to share some of the things you’ve learned from your mom in the comments. I know this can be a sensitive time for anyone whose mom is no longer with us please take heart in knowing that the lessons you’ve learned from mom mean that you still have a piece of her with you. For my single moms out there if no one else appreciates you today know that you are loved.
