Hi, Chicsters today’s post is all about productivity and of course this animal print outfit! So October is over and on Sunday, Nov 4th daylight savings time begins. So what do you plan on doing with your extra hour? Lately, I’ve been feeling overwhelmed by life, things I used to be able to do I can’t seem to get done now. So after much reflecting, I came to the realization that I might be burning out because I haven’t been the best steward of my body or time. You cant moonlight as a blogger for as long as I have and still binge watch an entire season of (insert show name) and expect to be functional at work (sound familiar).
I asked on Instagram (@supplechic) if I should write a post on being productive and I was told to. In today’s post, I’ll be sharing 7 ways to be more productive. The truth is if you are really efficient with your assigned tasks you can make more time for the things you love to do AKA binge-watching a season 0f (insert show name). I know I know these things are easier said than done but completely possible!
Identify Time Wasters
It goes without saying that in order to be more productive you have to Identify Time Wasters. Social media is a big culprit for me but it could be something else for you. There are many time management apps now that will help analyze how YOU spend your time like RescueTime , Focusme & Harvest.
Plan Your Day
It’s important to know what your day will look like, so start by making a task list. This includes having some kind of morning routine, routine sets the tone of the day. Some people even plan there day down to 10-minute intervals, what matters is that you start by writing down your plan, because writing things down engages another part of the brain the part helps you get things done.
Prioritize The List
Almost more important than writing things down is to prioritize your task lists. I recently started doing this and it has made a heck of a difference. Also not doing the tough things first simply makes you more anxious. As a mom, Todo lists are sometimes never ending but when you pick your main objectives for the day it seems more manageable and you feel more accomplished because you have taken care of the most important tasks.
Schedule in Quick Downtime
Life can be overwhelming and working yourself to a precipice leads to brain drain. According to Forbes full focus and energy to physiological fatigue occurs after 90 minutes so pushing yourself beyond that point is ineffective. It is important to stimulate and engage your mind and you do this by scheduling breaks. There are many methods to doing this the Promodoro cycle or the 52-17 method. You can even buy products like the Miracle Cube to aid you with this or you can use your phone to track your downtime.
Give Yourself Incentives
Finally, for those big tasks you really dont want to do, sometimes bribing yourself is the only recourse. Break them down into smaller increments and create buy-in by giving yourself incentives. When you reach a goal and earn an incentive it creates positive feelings in your mind. As you continue down the path it creates a snowball effect. By the time you know it the task is complete!
If you’ve been following this blog you know that I’ve always had a love for animal print especially leopard print and specifically leopard print accessories. I always found that adding that extra pop of print elevated my look. This season, however, the mantra for leopard print is go bold or go home.
I knew I wanted a leopard print skirt as soon as I started seeing them popping up on my feed. I feel they are the perfect bridge between Minimalism & Maximalism because you can tone it down or go bold depending on what you pair it with. I chose to walk the line by pairing my skirt (similar) with a striped top ( #musthave get 2 for $18 now), vinyl jacket and OTK boots. This skirt (almost sold out!!) is made out of a soft jersey fabric gives you that Realization Par look while being extremely affordable you won’t believe how much it cost (find out here).
There are so many ways to wear animal print this season, Bags, Belts, Boots, Sweaters go bold or go minimal have just have remembered leopard print isn’t the only print try snakeskin, zebra or even cow print!!
